“One-Chance” Keke Operator Arrested In Enugu, Says His Gang Has Been Kidnapping For 3 Years

Security operatives of the Umuchigbo Neighborhood Watch in Enugu East Local Government Area of Enugu State on Sunday arrested one member of a “one-chance” gang operating in the area.

The gallant security operatives accosted the 3-man gang on Sunday afternoon while they were trying to rob their victims along Uche-bu-Akpa axis of Umuchigbo community. According to the leader of the security team, the criminals engaged them in a fist fight before they were overpowered.

One of the gang members, who identified himself as Sunday Ike, was arrested. A tricycle with registration number ENU742WX was recovered from the suspects. During cross examination, the suspect who gave the names of other members of the gang who escaped as Ifeanyi and Emeka Nnewi said he hails from Ndiagu Amechi Awkunanaw in Enugu South Local Government Area but resides at 4 Corners, Ozalla, in Nkanu West Local Government Area of the state.

He further confessed that the gang had been in existence for three years and had successfully robbed and kidnapped many unsuspecting members of the public. One of the security operatives who spoke on the matter said that the suspect has been handed over to the police for further investigation and possible arrest of the fleeing members of the syndicate.
